Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Here’s the story of my condition, and why I’m running a marathon for Arthritis Action.
In February 2019 after suffering months of joint pain from, head to toe and having several different tests, I was diagnosed with Arthritis. Before the diagnosis I was in pain all day, everyday. I could barely get out of bed and it got so bad the Mrs had to help me out and take me to hospital. She is probably the only person who knows how bad it got!
Since being diagnosed I have been on a mixture of tablets and injections to manage the condition. I have good days and bad days with it, luckily due to my medication and learning about the condition and how it affects my body, I have more good than bad!
Arthritis Action is the only UK charity offering hands-on, practical help for people with arthritis to improve their quality of life whilst living with the condition. They offer healthy eating advice, clinical appointments, exercise tips and pain management techniques whether or not you are having medical treatment. They are a life saver for people who haven’t been as fortunate as I have in finding a way to mange my condition.
I want to run the Brighton Marathon, not only to prove to myself I can still achieve what I want to achieve, but to help support those that need more help with their condition. If you would like to donate it would really mean a lot.
Thanks,
Luke x
