Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Your donations will be matched by my employer, supporting an array of research and care for people living with dementia!

We all forget a name or a face sometimes. Especially as we get older. But dementia is something different, it’s truly horrible to see a loved one sit in front of you and not know who you are - I’ve been there and know close friends that feel the effects aswell. Even the simple tasks such as boiling a kettle can be a challenge for people living with dementia and unfortunately it impacts huge amounts of our friends, families and loved ones year on year...

• 850,000 people with dementia in the UK, with numbers set to rise to over 1 million by 2025.
• 225,000 will develop dementia this year, that’s one every three minutes.
• 1 in 6 people over the age of 80 have dementia.
• 70 per cent of people in care homes have dementia      or severe memory problems.
• 40,000 people under 65 with dementia in the UK.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
