Story
Oxjam Shepherd's Bush is part of Oxfam's month-long music festival in October with hundreds of events happening across the UK.
Led by a team of volunteers, this year's Oxjam Shepherd's Bush Takeover takes place on Saturday 12 October. We will celebrate the best of Shepherd's Bush's music scene with over 40 diverse and talented acts performing across 4 key locations. We have a fundraising target of £5,000. We plan to raise this through local community events, support from local businesses, ticket sales to our music festival and individual donations.
Oxjam's national fundraising target is £570,000 which will go to unrestricted funds to help Oxfam in it's life saving work. Last year, Oxfam's emergency and development work reached a staggering 15 million people in 55 countries. Current campaigns include the Syria Crisis Appeal where 1.6 million refugees are in desperate need of shelter, food and water.
Here are just some of the examples of what your donation could buy:
- £3 buys a life-saving emergency water bucket
- £31 trains a midwife
- £500 equips a school with a hygiene promotion kit
- £800 buys 350 mosquito nets
- £1700 builds a whole classroom
We are seeking donations at any level to help us reach our fundraising target of £5,000. If you would like to support please click 'Donate'.
