Run, run, run, run, run!

Virgin London Marathon 2011 · 17 April 2011 ·
Three short (but long) years ago, a normal day working at home ended up with my being taken to hospital following a sudden seizure and (following a scan) being told there was something in my head that the doctors "couldn't explain". A day later, I was talking with a brain surgeon who was talking tumors and brain surgery....
...so far, so whacky....
6 weeks later, the same surgeon returned from B&Q with a shiny new drill and proceeded to cut my head open to get at the golfball-sized tumor within (for his collection, I guess).
A long time off work, some Chernobyl-style radiotherapy (and attendant hair loss), and I was right as rain.
Back in fairly good health now, it's time for me to give something back to the good people at the Brain Research Trust, a UK charity who support the UCL Institute of Neurology and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (where I endured the DIY session above).
Not being particularly gifted at anything else, I've chosen running as my poison, the 2011 London Marathon in particular.
My normal run involves a 6 mile suffle into work in my best lycra, so this will certainly be a challenge and something more than a veiled attempt at middle-aged weight loss.
I'd very much appreciate your contribution to this cause - my minimum fundraising target is GBP2500, which I think in this age of banker bonuses and booming economy is easily achievable.
My JustGiving page makes this easy, but if the Internet's not for you, I'll happily take your money any other way which suits you.
Thanks in advance!
(the Charity will thank you even if my knees won't)
