Story
Hi everyone!
I'm super excited to be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon and competing in the London West Tough Mudder to raise money for Save the Children. These donations will be matched by my employer, GSK, doubling the impact of your money.
A note on these events:
LLHM 2023: 13.1 miles across London, from Trafalgar Square, to St Paul's, past the Tower of London and all the way back again.
Tough Mudder: I will have to conquer more than 30 obstacles over a stretch of 15km of mud, battling water hoses, swing ropes, electrocution and 6ft walls. I also plan to take a GoPro with me. If you donate you'll have unfiltered access to the gorgeous selfies and videos I take over the course.
Save the Children are an incredibly impactful charity working globally to address inequity and improve the welfare of children. Their work to improve child education, health and fight hunger has benefited over 45 million people across 120 countries, many of them being the least developed in the world. They have been instrumental in delivering direct relief to humanitarian crises such as the Turkey-Syria earthquakes, and the East Africa hunger crisis. Much of their work addresses climate-related disasters, which will only increase in frequency and intensity in the coming years. Their work has never been more necessary.
A £25 donation (matched by GSK) could provide 417 water purification tablets (provide safe drinking water) OR 294 food paste sachets (to treat malnutrition) OR 30 midwives' birth kits. These are essential services that could positively impact the most disadvantaged communities in the world.
I hope you will join me in raising money for this amazing charity and making an impact on the lives of children globally. I will be running the half-marathon with my friend Liv, and we will be posting our training journey on Instagram @liv_and_luke_go_running - follow for good vibes and maybe a few running puns if you're lucky ;)
Thank you for every bit of support you will be able to give❤️
With love,
Luke
