Story
In November my 14 month old daughter Angel was admitted to the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Southampton General Hospital, where she was on a life support machine for 5 days with Pneumonia aspiration. Angel suffers with severe reflux which brought on this life threatening illness and required an operation to hopefully prevent this occuring again. She had to be fed by a 24 hr NG tube, and was cared for by Southampton and Poole Hospital before returning back to Southampton Hospital for her Fundoplication surgery. In total our hospital stay was 8 weeks.
Myself and Angel's mum were given a place to stay at Ronald Mcdonald House Southampton for a total of 22 days. They provide free home from home accommodation and support for families whilst their children are in hospital.
I cannot thank the charity enough for their support during a very emotional and stressful time, and would like to give something back. I am raising funds ( it costs the charity on average £25 per family to accommodate each night ) by doing a 10,000 ft skydive in Salisbury on 25th June.
