Story
In just a matter of weeks, we are braving hideous sea-sickness, horrendeous food poisoning and that darn hot sun all for the charity LCD Development. We are hitchhiking to Morocco, and yes, we will get lost, probably somewhere in Eastern Europe, but that's okay because we like Victor and Andrea.
Seeing as we speak next to no French or Spanish, coupled with a brilliant mix of being generally incompetant and also EXTREMELY determined, there are definitely going to be some interesting stories (i.e tales of kidnap, dubious kebabs and unrestricted happiness).
Luke has promised, for example, that should we reach our fundraising targets, he will:
- Do a topless dance in Jemaa el-Fnaa, the busiest market square in the world.
- Eat a kilogram of falafel
- Get a bikini wax - in a traditional Moroccan salon.
With all of the above being documented, of course.
...and hopefully, you never know, we might end up in Morocco (most probably by chance or fluke).
Note from Amy: LCD Development are a charity working to improve education levels across Africa, with successful projects in Uganda, Ethiopia, Malawi ... and that's just the beginning. They believe every child has a right to an education, and need all the help they can get in their cause.
We should stress that NONE of the money you donate goes to us and we are self-funding our trip. Any money donated is registered and heads straight to LCD Development's funds, going directly to good use. So please donate!
Note from Luke: 'I hope Morocco has falafel. I really like falafel. Well, I've never tried it, but it seems like a friendly enough food. And I want a bikini wax, can I talk about that on the justgiving page?'
