We are fighting to make a world where diabetes does no harm

Story

Hello all

I have been a type 1 diabetic since I was 11years old and it was a huge change in my life my ambitions were crushed. As I was unable to pursue the career I had always wanted. I was very reluctant to agree and admit I had diabeties and I never really looked after myself, I was a stubborn teenager. I know how hard it is to come to terms with diabeties and how much time and effort it takes to get it manageable and the influence this can have on yourself and people around you.

This is why I am fundraising for diabeties UK because every little helps to support people and families with diabeties and also hopefully one day finding a cure or even another form of treatment to enhance people lives and to make diabeties easier to manage and live with.

The event I am going to complete for Diabeties UK is the 'Tough Guy' event in wolverhampton. Which takes place Sunday 1st February? This event is 15km long run through mud and freezing cold water with over 200 obstacles with extreme fear and panic!!

What is tough guy ?

'The original and toughest test of its kind anywhere in the World. Run on the last Sunday in January, you will need every last ounce of mental and physical strength you can muster to rise to this challenge. Your fear of heights, tight spaces, fire, water and electricity will be tested to the max. Everyone bar the very toughest will be beaten by over 250 manmade obstacles!'

So please help me to help others with diabeties.
