Raising money for ICS Entrepreneur

ICS Entrepreneur with VSO · 31 December 2015 ·
ICS Entrepreneur is a programme that sends young people on 10 week voluntary placements in developing countries to help local businesses and communities. It aims to improve livelihoods by having a sustainable and lasting impact on the people that it works with. Projects are completed alongside volunteers from the host country in order to maximise the effect and impact of the work.
In March I will be travelling to Nigeria for 10 weeks to work on a programme aimed at improving maths and science education in the area. Traditionally attitudes towards maths and science are not very positive and the standard method of teaching can reinforce this as well. Our project will look at giving ideas to teachers to liven up the classroom, as well as providing extra opportunities for the students to experience the sciences in a fun way.
ICS Entrepreneur is funded by DFID, however each participant must also contribute towards the costs of the programme. That is why I am asking for your help over the next few months to reach my fundraising target!
