Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am a keen cyclist and entered the ballot for the Prudential Ride London 100 event in London. The plan was not to do the ride for charity but once other people on the ride started sharing their pages I thought this is something I could do. Why not help to make a difference to people who need at at the same time as doing the ride. So I started looking for charity's to ride for. I wanted something that meant something to me and the Keep Me Close appeal is something that I feel is a great cause.

In November my wife gave birth to our beautiful twin girls. Twin one, who we named Esme, was born a healthy 5lb 4oz. Twin two, who we named Lola, was born at 5lb 6oz but was born breach and as such had not had chance to clear her lungs on the way out so was having trouble breathing. Due to this she was rushed up to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit where she was given excellent treatment and made a full recovery. Both girls are now 7 months and doing really well.

We were lucky and Lola was only in NICU for a day but it was a worrying time. The Keep Me Close Appeal are raising money to help provide accommodation for parents who's new baby's have to stay in NICU for extended periods of time. I have chosen to help with this appeal as I realised that if you don't live in Plymouth and your new baby is taken into NICU it is so important to have somewhere close by to stay so you can be near your new baby at probably the most stressful and worrying time of your life.

No amount is too small, even if you can only donate 1 pound, every little helps.
