Story

Ten years on from Chris' accident, we're returning to the Strathpuffer 24 hour mountain bike race. In Chris' own poorly chosen words, we'll be "giving it death".  It'd be nice to raise a little more money for Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team to add to the vast sum we raised back in 2013 (over £25k).

Chris was a keen bike and triathlon racer, winning numerous races, some of which I was fortunate enough to be his team mate for. Chris was always the faster one- his dedication to being fast was unmatched.

This weekend four of us are doing the Strathpuffer 24 hour mountain bike race. This is held in Strathpeffer, 30 minutes north of Inverness. "Bike" magazine in the US voted it in the top 10 hardest mountain bike events in the world. The race involves riding up to 200 miles over several inches of ice and snow through a night that has 17 hours of darkness. Chris meant to race this event with me fourteen years ago but was unable to make it.

In his memory we would like to take the opportunity for the fabulous Mountain Rescue team that recovered the casualties. Please give generously, it would mean the world to his family and friends.
