We fund care, campaigning and research to achieve a world free from MND

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On Sunday 25th April 2010 I will be running my 2nd London Marathon. I will be running for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MND) who provide care and support for people who suffer with MND and their families. For anyone who doesn't know what MND is, it is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks the upper and lower motor neurones. Degeneration of the motor neurones leads to weakness and wasting of muscles, causing increasing loss of mobility in the limbs, and difficulties with speech, swallowing and breathing.

In 2006 my Dad was diagnosed with MND which was a shock to us all. He has now been living with it for over 3 years. My Dad is one of the luckier ones, he can still walk, eat and talk however for many MND sufferers, these things that we take for granted are taken away from them within months.

Please support me and the MND association by giving whatever you can to help push for a cure to this awful illness.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thanks

Luke
