Story
Hi, my name is Daisy, I am eleven years old, I live near York and I am raising money by having my hair cut off to make into wigs for children who have cancer.
The money I raise for having my hair cut will be donated to Scleroderma and Raynaud’s UK.
Scleroderma is a very rare disease, only 12,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with it and my mum is one of them. Scleroderma hardens your skin and internal organs so it makes it hard to move sometimes and can affect your heart, lungs, kidneys, oesophagus and muscles which can be very painful and make life
difficult.
My mum also has Raynaud’s disease which means she cannot go outside in the cold as much as she would like, and if she does it is very painful and she gets ulcers on her fingers and her hands and feet because the change in temperature means her blood circulation does not work properly.
I am doing this because my mum gets a lot of pain with her illness and it affects all the family as my dad, brother and I all worry a lot about her.
I hope the money we raise will help Scleroderma and Raynaud’s UK to find a cure or a way to make my mum’s and the lives of other people who have this illness easier.
Please sponsor me to help me get a lot of money to help make people’s lives better.
