We provide expert care and support to young people with cancer

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Although I have discovered a new love of running this past year and I have managed to get myself reasonably fit, running a whole 26.2 miles is a whole different ball game!  So whilst I am ridiculously excited about running a marathon in a city I love and to support a cause I care deeply about, I am a little bit terrified at the same time!  So I really need your support, please, to make it all worth while.

Around seven young people aged between 13 and 24 are diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK. They need expert treatment and support from the moment they hear the word ‘cancer.'  Cancer is a terrible thing for anyone to go through at any time in their life, but the Teenage Cancer Trust recognises that this age group has a unique set of emotional, physical and practical needs and they offer support services which can bring just a little bit of comfort to young people when they need it most.

I will run in memory of my dear friend Soph who lost her battle with cancer in 2011.  Soph was lucky to have her lovely family, fiance and friends around her in those last, difficult days, but she, and every young person who faces cancer, need all the help we can give them to fight that fight.  Let's make sure every young person gets the help they need.

Please give all you can.
