'Pity the person who gave nothing as they had too little to give ....'
As always ideas always seem good at the time you think of them .... and certainly being marooned on a desert island together with some pretty dishy and formidable people in order to raise money for a very worthy charity was a wonderful idea in bleak February ... however, the desert island I had in mind was one of palm trees and gentle surf ... not Thomson Island on Windermere ... but then aren't we lucky to live in such a beautiful area .... far luckier than such a lot of the children that the NCH help and that is why I really need you to support such a wonderful cause and put your hands in your pockets to raise sufficient funds to 'spring' me from the island .... now don't be thinking you can pay extra to keep me there (and I know that some of you would) ... because I just have to work harder to raise more and rather like the bushtucker trials I won't be able to get special 'treats' for my co- captives ... and being the caterer amongst them I know that they are hoping I might be able to rustle something delicious and appetising from a couple of blades of grass and a water snail or two ....
My biggest worry is that I won't have a signal for my mobile phone in order to call everyone to make a pledge ... so just in case, could you tell everyone to give on line on Thursday 22nd May (and I need to be off the Island by 23rd May for my daughter's birthday ...)
I don't mind how much or how little you give .... just do something!!
