We provide inspiration and support to people seriously injured through sport

Story

The Matt Hampson Foundation inspires and supports young people who have sustained life changing injuries through its unique Get Busy Living centre in rural Leicestershire. The centre provides expert physiotherapy, specialist personal training, advice and mentoring. It’s doors were opened in 2018 by Founder ex-England and Leicester Tigers rugby player Matt Hampson, who himself experienced a life-changing injury in 2005.

It has proven to be such an asset in a good friend’s journey since he sustained a T11 complete spinal cord injury in November. His recovery, motivation and fitness have been awe-inspiring, particularly as it has always been with such an incredible positive attitude, humble nature and fantastic sense of humour! It is clear that the Matt Hampson Foundation has been a huge part of this rehabilitation for him, therefore I want to raise money for the facility to keep going in such a brilliant way.

It will be a pretty big challenge for me doing a half ironman (1.2 miles of open water swimming followed by 56 miles of road cycling and then 13.1 miles of running) but given how much I’ve been enjoying all three disciplines this year, I was persuaded into going for it! It’s not long till the day now and any donations will help me get over that finish line and go to such a worthy cause!
