Hello everyone, before I start yes I think I must be mad!!!

I have always wanted to run the London Marathon but I never thought in a million years that I actually would.I also never thought in a million years that I would get cancer. One in three of us will get cancer at some stage in our lives.

Well with only 2 days to go I'm finally updating my justgiving page-I have been far too busy training!!!

Training has been fun actually, even through the winter, the cold, the snow and the rain. Its given me something else to think about instead of worrying about "the cancer" and whether or not it will ever come back.

 

I also feel fitter, healthier and have lost a bit of weight.

I'm very excited about the Big Day and my race plan is to take it easy, pace myself and most of all ENJOY IT!

Yesterday my mum told me that when I was sick in hospital I told her that when I was better I wanted to do 2 things-run the marathon and go to  Las Vegas. Well Sunday I will be running in the London Marathon and yesterday I booked a holiday to Las Vegas. So really anything is possible.

 

Doing this is so important to me, so much so its difficult to put into words.  Cancer affects so many people and does not discriminate. I recently found out that a lovely girl I met during my treatment, she was 23 years old, has sadly died.

She was a great help to me when I was in hospital, we could comfort and support each other, as we both knew how awful we felt. Such a special girl, my run is for her and her wonderful mum who was amazing.
