Story
We successfully completed the dawn walk last Sunday. Tessa and Laurence did the sensible six and half miles, Rishi and I did the thirteen miles in three and a half hours and we only got wet in the last 15 minutes!
We wanted to say thank you to everyone who has sponsored us (there are some anonymous donors on the website so not completely sure who to thank).
We smashed our original target and now smashed our revised target so we are so pleased and really chuffed with all your support. It means a lot to us and the hospice. Half of everything the hospice raises through the walk is also being matched by a local donator.
Before the walk I wrote...I'm joining 'A Walk to Remember' at dawn on Sunday 23 September 2012 with my mum, brother and Rishi as 'Team MacLeod'. We’re walking in memory of my father, David MacLeod. When Dad was in Thames HospiceCare in June we picked up a leaflet and mentioned to him that we’d think about taking part in the walk ... so here we are.
For the short time Thames HospiceCare in Windsor cared for Dad, all staff and volunteers were always very welcoming and thoughtful. Their garden was peaceful and a space Dad could enjoy with family and friends.
We hope you can sponsor ‘Team MacLeod’ to raise a sizable donation, say thank you to the hospice and help them continue to support other people and their families through unforgiving illnesses.
Thank you in advance for all donations, your support means a lot to us all and it will help push us through as we walk around Windsor at dawn!
