Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 21st March I will be running the Reading Half Marathon. The very fact that it's got the word marathon in it strikes fear into my heart. I signed up by an involuntary slip of the hand, but I'm in it now, so wish me luck! Luckily there'll be people to follow on the day, so it should be more successful than some of my training runs where I got lost!
Anyway, I didn't want to go through all that training for nothing, so I decided to run for Action for Children. They used to be called NCH (National Children's Homes). They aim to help the UK's most vulnerable children and young people achieve their full potential. They have services throughout the UK and help children and young people whose families need support, who cannot live with their birth families, who are disabled or have experienced severe difficulties in their lives. They also support work in southern Africa, the Caribbean and Central America. You can read some of the stories on their website: www.actionforchildren.org.uk - they really do make a difference to young people's lives. I am really grateful for my happy childhood, and wanted to do something to help improve things for those that are less fortunate.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Thank you very much for your time in reading this (and hopefully your money!). Think of me all sweaty and exhausted on 21st March! Training tips are appreciated!
