BEARS is a charity that equips, trains and supports volunteer Doctors and Paramedics to attend patients in Essex and into Hertfordshire who require advanced pre-hospital care. All members of BEARS are activated by the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust and have undergone additional education and training to provide advanced care at the roadside or wherever patients require help.

BEARS were activated a total of 344 times in 2014, that is 4% higher then 2013. Our team of 11 doctors and paramedics undergo additional advanced care training and are equipped totally by the charity. They are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week and this is all done voluntarily.
