We fund research in to cancer vaccines to improve cancer survival rates in the UK

Story

The British 10K London Run  - 12th July 2009

Dear Friends and Relatives

As you know, the Cancer Vaccine Institute www.cancervaccine.org.uk is a charity with which I have been closely involved for many years. Since those early days in the 1990s, thanks to all those who have made donations towards the research undertaken by Professor Dalgleish and his team at St George's, University of London, there has been significant and exciting progress towards treatments that aim to fight cancer by stimulating a patient's immune system to recognise and fight harmful cells.  But research and many years of clinical trials will cost hundreds of thousands of pounds before these treatments can be made available for patients with a wide range of cancers, including prostate, melanoma, breast, colo-rectal, childhood, pancreatic, kidney and brain cancers.

Please can you help to fight cancer with vaccines by sponsoring me?

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Vaccine Institute gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

About the charity

The Institute for Cancer Vaccines and Immunotherapy (previously Cancer Vaccine Institute) is the only national charity in the UK specifically funding research to fight cancer with vaccines and immunotherapy.
