Two covid-cancelled races later we’re finally doing it…

On the 20th August 2020 I lost my friend, Alex Caldwell, to a 15-year struggle with an immune disorder which saw him battle through a liver and bone marrow transplant, but tragically and unexpectedly took his life.

Alex was an amazing person who in the face of his chemotherapy treatment, raised over £4000 for Anthony Nolan, a pioneering charity that matches bone marrow donors to people in need of lifesaving transplants. With this in mind, some university friends and I have decided to run the Cardiff Half marathon in aid of Anthony Nolan and in tribute to Alex.

As Alex himself put it: 'Any donations are welcome no matter how small - for a cause that’s so close to my heart.'
