Story
On 8/2/15 we lost Lauren, aged 19, to Meningococcal Septicaemia. It was so quick and brutal, and appeared to be a normal virus until it was too late. She became ill on Saturday evening and died the next day. No symptoms, no signs, one minute here, the next gone.
Lauren, was a former pupil at Bournemouth School for Girls and was an A* student in her second year of studying History at University College London (UCL) and hoped to pursue a career in Journalism. She was looking at getting an internship at the BBC this summer.
Lauren had everything going for her and had her whole life ahead of her. She was very funny and kind, and very popular with all of her friends back home and in London.
Lauren was brilliant academically but loved a night out and she was enjoying university life so much. She loved going to concerts and attended Reading Festival for the last few years. Lauren loved reading, family holidays, kickboxing, horseriding (she had her own horse 'Rosie') and music. Lauren loved life to the max.
It has been such a shock to her family and friends and everyone will miss her greatly. Lauren had so much left to live for and we would like to try and help support the fight against this deadly disease.
Love you and miss you forever Lauren xxxxxxxxxxx
Meningitis Research Foundation raises awareness and support for a world free from meningitis and septicaemia. There are vaccines that protect against some forms of meningitis and septicaemia, but although these vaccines provide excellent protection, they can't prevent all types of the diseases. More than 1 year since MenB vacinne was recommended in the UK #wheresourvaccine. Please visit www.meningitis.org for further information on the Charity.
The Charity have been excellent at providing support to Lauren's family during such a devastating time and we now want to give something back to them.
