Story
In April I am going to be running the Brighton Marathon to raise money for The Treloar Trust in Alton.
Treloar's provides education, care, therapy, medical support and independence training to young people with physical disabilities, aged from 2-25 years old: 97% are in wheelchairs & 90% have no natural speech. They have to raise around £1.5mn every year to provide the specialist equipment, opportunities and staff required for these children and young adults to have a brighter future.
One of the main factors for me choosing Treloar's, apart from the fantastic work they do, is the close family link. My Grandmother's Father's Cousin - Sir William Purdie Treloar founded and opened the Trust in 1907 and to this day my Grandmother is the closest family link to him. Hearing about the incredible work they do, definitely made up my mind to take on this challenge on their behalf.
Thank you for all your help, I will keep you posted with my progress and training.
