Hello and welcome to my fundraising page! 

Dementia is a disease that has taken over the minds of both my maternal Grandparents, Maureen and Doug in the past few years.  This slow and cruel disease has taken away the one thing we really have, our memories. 

But the truth about Alzeimer's is the people that it affects most, are usually the family members. 

My Grandad Glynne dealt with the deterioration of Nanny until his death in 2021 and her diagnosis has severely accelerated since his passing.  

Nanny Jill continues to look after and care for my Grandad Doug to this day providing as much normality and joy as possible.

Both my mum, Paula and Auntie Karen have also been amazing at taking on what this disease has done to both of their parents.

So after seeing and experiencing the toll that this disease has taken on those close to me, I wanted to do anything I could to help get a step closer to no-one having to experience this feeling again ....

So bring on the Hackney Half Marathon!

Anyone that knows me knows I love exercise and keeping fit, but running is going to be a real challenge. 

Lots of people are going to be coming down to the Hackney Half on the day and I'll be booking a table for a well needed glass (or bottle) of Rosé afterwards!!
