I am very proud to be running the Great north run for the Brain Research trust. I ran for this charity a few years ago and was very pleased when i got a call from Nick (the fundraising officer) asking me to run for them again. Members of my family have suffered from some of the conditions that the trust are funding research into, and i am proud to be running in memory of the loved ones i have lost. Below is a little bit of info about the Brain Research Trust

We were established in 1971 to promote and support research into the causes, treatment, prevention and cure of neurological diseases.

From the more than 250 identifiable neurological conditions, the BRT's support helps further research into Alzheimer's disease, brain tumours, multiple sclerosis, stroke, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, motor neurone disease, migraine, CJD, brain trauma and spinal cord regeneration.

As we do not receive any government funding, we rely on the generosity of our donors who enable us this life-saving research to continue, to whom we are most grateful.
