I am  running the London Marathon this year for Cancer Research in memory of my Uncle Martin who sadly lost his life to lung cancer in December 2011 and in support of my Husband Alan who was diagnosed with a brain tumour in April last year. 

The strength and positive attitudes I have experienced from  people whose lives have been affected by cancer, has inspired me to take on the greatest challenge of my life!!

The funding and research that Cancer Research does is wonderful and invaluable, leading the world in finding ways to prevent and diagnose cancer earlier and in developing the top medications. On a personal level, the Cancer Research website has been a great source of information and support for myself, Alan and our families.

As the loved one of someone who has cancer and of someone who has lost their life to it, it is comforting to know there is an organisation like Cancer Research doing its best to help prevent this disease from devastating people’s lives. I know that there is so much more to do in the fight against cancer and through running the London Marathon I would like to support (and say thank you to) Cancer Research and encourage others to do so too!
