My nan was diagnosed with Alzheimers in January 2010 and passed away in Feb this year. It was one of the hardest things I've ever done watch her deterioate from a bright, bubbly and happy lady to someone who couldnt talk, walk or eat and eventually take her last breath.

It was decided on February the 5th that there was nothing the doctors could do for her and that all that was remaining was to make her comfortable for what time she had left. She died the following night (my grandads birthday) with us all around her as a family, it was so peaceful. 

This is where I started running for the charity, to raise money for the disease and try to be as healthy as I could.
