Story
On Tuesday after the school run, I'll be donning my newly purchased Santa suit - complete with one very hot beard - to run what I hope will be at least 5K around the streets of Market Harborough. Why, you say?
Because, on Christmas Day (just like every day) our inspirational teams of doctors, paramedics and pilots will be flying life saving missions to help those most critically in need of their medical intervention. On average our Air Ambulance crews are called out seven times a day. That's seven people, seven families, whose Christmas Days and possibly lives may be saved by the work of The Air Ambulance Service this Christmas. Please support me and my Fundraising colleagues as we aim to clock up 245km between us and as many donations as possible taking part in our Virtual Santa Fun Run!
I haven't run in months, I think that Santa beard combined with my lack of fitness, is going to make this a real challenge! Plus, people, the embarassment factor alone is worth a donation right? For local friends and family, I'll even do a "run past" if you fancy a laugh!
Our Charity operates as the national Childrens Air Ambulance and the local air ambulance services for Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland. We do not receive any government funding for either of the services and we rely entirely on donations to raise the money we need for each lifesaving mission.
