Story
I set myself the challenge to pledge 500k to the around the world for mito challenge the Lily Foundation have organised. Since the 1st May I have cycled and run a total of 500k. This has also helped my training for the Royal Parks Half marathon which I am running in memory of Aidan on 14th October. This page is to raise funds for both challenges in aid of the Lily Foundation. Aidan died of mitochondrial disease in 2014 aged just 19 months. There is no cure and no treatment for the disease. By finding UK research the Lily Foundation aim to find treatments for this debilitated disease and ultimately find a cure. Here's some more info:
The Lily Foundation was founded in Lily's memory, having lost her battle to Mitochondrial Disease at just eight months old. The charity aims to give hope, answers and support to the many other children and families that face the challenges of this disease today.Did you know every twenty minutes a child is born who will develop Mitochondrial Disease by the age of 16! There is no cure for this disease which is for many, debilitating and life limiting. Please stand with us and fight Mitochondrial Disease and fight for hope.
