Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In September 2015 our son, Peter, was diagnosed with epilepsy. He was aged 8 at the time. The medication he was prescribed was successfully controlling his seizures and in May 2018 he was two years seizure free. At this point his medication was reduced in the hope that he had outgrown the epilepsy. Unfortunately that was not the case and the seizures started again. As a 12 year old this was harder for him to come to terms with than when he was 8, being more aware of how people react and the stigma associated with epilepsy. Watching him struggle not only with the physical effects of the epilepsy but also the emotional impact is the hardest thing I have faced as a parent.
By supporting Epilepsy Action I hope to raise awareness and reduce that stigma, hopefully making Peter's life a little easier.
