Story

This November it will be 8 years since Brucicles and I were matched by Guide Dogs, in this time our bond and partnership has flourished. I am eternally grateful for the independence Bruce has given me enabling my confidence to grow and on those days where I don’t feel confident he is by my side like a sturdy solid rock that steals my socks. Bruce is approaching retirement which feels me with sadness as he is a joy to be around, snores and all. Guide Dogs rely purely on donations to carry out there incredible work to breed, rear, train and care for their dogs who change lives every day. I pledge to run 50 miles in November to hopefully raise some vital funds for a truely worthy cause, I hope that my generous, kind and obviously good looking friends can support me by sponsoring me a bob or two. Many people see “the Black Dog” as a negative thing but my Black Dog is everything to me.

Thank you for reading and hopefully donating

The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.
