Story
I am thrilled to have a place to run in the London Marathon this April and am running in aid of the Stroke Association. This charity supports a cause that is very close to mine and my families heart, as it is for so many others.
In 2017 a very close family friend had a stroke out of the blue and at the early age of 53. Seeing the impact a stoke can have and witnessing the importance of long term support means I am delighted to be running for such an important cause to provide both funding and raise awareness.
The Stroke Association are the only organisation dedicated to funding research into ongoing rehabilitation that can help stroke survivors live fuller, happier lives. Whilst patients are often able to make full recoveries from a range of modern illnesses including cancer, stroke patients often have to adapt how they live for the rest of their lives. This makes long term care crucial and the Stroke Association provide specialist support, fund critical research and campaign to make sure people affected by a stroke get the very best care and support to rebuild their lives. Rebuilding lives after a stroke is a team effort. It takes the determination of stroke survivors and their family, the generosity of supporters and the dedication of the healthcare and research communities to get there.
Toddy remains life and soul of any party and I have no doubt he'll be on hand to provide me with a laugh and a very large glass of wine whenever the training gets tough. I am very proud and excited to be running for such a special charity.
I need to raise £2,500 to run in aid of this wonderful charity so any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you xxx
