My Story...
As an athletic girl who loves a challenge, I completed the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award last year and will be travelling down to London on the 13th July this year to receive it from St.James's Palace in the presence of the Duke of Edinburgh.
Due to my enjoyment of this personal experience, I decided to challenge myself further. I therefore intend to cycle the well-known route of Land's End to John o'Groats.
The route we have chosen from Land's End to John o'Groats will be a 966 mile challenge which I will be cycling in order to raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research UK. I have chosen this charity owing to a recent loss in my family and because I believe it is a fantastic charity to support!
My challenge will begin on the 2nd September 2011 and my aim is to complete it within 14 days (10 to 14 days being the average time it takes for a male adult cyclist to complete it.) I will be cycling with a fellow Old Kirkamian friend, Michael Bennett, who also hopes to raise as much money as possible for his chosen charity.
I know this will be the most mentally and physically challenging event of my life to date, but I am excited to experience it and hopefully make a difference to those who need it most.
Thank you so much for your time and please donate to this worthy cause.

How JustGiving works...
Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
