Story
In 2020 I should have been running the London marathon for The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the marathon was cancelled and postponed numerous times and then I ended up out of sport due to injury leaving me unable to run in 2022 and 2023. I will now be running the marathon in 2024 and have never been more excited to run it!
My aim is to raise as much money as possible for this wonderful charity which changes people’s lives on a daily basis. This is a massive challenge for me and one that I wouldn't have even considered a few years ago before receiving physio from The RJAH for problems with my knees.
The RJAH have also treated many of my friends and family including Lizzie who spent some time as an inpatient in the hospital, using specialist equipment that previous marathon runners have helped to fundraise, to help her to walk again. Fundraising provides state of the art scanning equipment which enables the care teams to tailor treatments to each patient; this was extremely important with Lizzie’s care, as with so many other patients. We are very lucky to have this amazing hospital right on our doorstep!
Donations and fundraising will be used for the benefit of the patients and staff at the hospital. Along with the rest of the NHS, The RJAH have worked tirelessly through the pandemic to continue to give the best possible care to all of their patients. Thanks once again, your donation is much appreciated.
