Story
Thank you for visiting my page.
On July 12th 2022 Tony Mawson passed away suddenly from a heart attack while sleeping. Tony was a huge character, known by many for his famous laugh, he was a lover of life, always a smile on his face but above all Tony was a family man and has left a huge void in the lives of the family he was so devoted to.
It’s time for me to hang up my long distance running shoes and give my joints a rest… but before I do, on May 14th I will be running one last marathon in Tony’s memory, in the hope of raising funds for The British heart foundation, a charity close to The Mawson familiys hearts.
Each year in the UK there are up to 100,000 hospital admissions due to heart attacks and although survival rates have improved, more funding is needed to research new treatment and continue to raise awareness of the sudden but severe and often silent symptoms that in this case took the life of a man with so much more to give.
Any donations no matter how small are appreciated, messages to the family or memories of Tony are welcomed in the comments as on this occasion they will be doing the fundraising…. I am just the legs for this one, as anyone that knows the Mawson boys well will know that they don’t have a decent knee between them!!
Because this event has been organised in support of the MND association, a charity also close to the family’s heart, there is an opportunity to divide your donation between the 2 charity’s. You can read about my MND association fundraising by searching for Lucy Judge on the just giving home page and donate to either or a little to each..
On behalf of the Mawson Family, thank you in advance for any donations to these amazing charities that continue to work tirelessly in their research to find cures and save lives.
