Story
Angus Frazer, Derek Hoy, Siobhan Hanlon, Rebecca Smail, Michael Simmonds, Ben Ogilvie and Kirsty Graydon are attempting to complete the Three Peaks Challenge on the 8th and 9th July this year.
The Three Peaks Challenge consists of climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours!
We are completing this challenge to raise money for the Scottish Huntington's Association. They are a charity who support families affected by Huntington's Disease.
Unfortunately Huntington's is something that we are familiar with. My mum, Hilary, passed away in January having suffered with Huntington's. My mums two sister, my Aunt Sandra and Aunt Valerie, have also passed away having been diagnosed with Huntington's.
Huntington's disease is an inherited condition that damages certain nerve cells in the brain. This brain damage gets progressively worse over time and can affect movement, cognition (perception, awareness, thinking, judgement) and behaviour. It is a disease that affects every aspect of the sufferers life as well as their family and friends.
The Huntington's Association provide a huge amount of varying support to families affected by the disease and we are grateful for any donations no matter how small to help them.
