Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I would like to tell you a little bit about why I want to raise money for this charity;
My Uncle Jack Ashley was a Labour Politician who became the first deaf member of parliament.
He was a courageous man who fought hard endlessly campaigning for the disabled, thalidomide victims, violence and rape victims and also against bullying in the armed forces.
Many called him a tireless campaigner who changed the lives of millions of men and women through his sheer determination, forceful and radical nature; making a huge impact through his pushing for legislation in parliament but also through his charity work.
Not only did he make an impact on millions of people who he would maybe never meet, but he also impacted on the family around him who loved him and miss him dearly.
He was an inspiration to me and somebody who I always looked up to and who inspired me to always fight for what you believe and to never give up.
In completing the Great North Run this year it is nowhere near as much of a challenge as to what Uncle Jack faced at times, however I hope that I can raise some money in doing so for a Charity that was very close to his heart.
I thank you for taking the time to read this story and also thank you for your support in doing something that means a lot to me
