I’ve chosen to fundraise for Bliss because I want to make a real difference to the 95,000 babies born premature or sick every year. Every donation that’s made to this page brings Bliss closer to ensuring that every baby born premature or sick in the UK has the best chance of survival and quality of life. Bliss does that by supporting parents to care for their babies, campaigning for better neonatal care and enabling life-changing research. 

My twins George and Clarissa were born two months early on November 15th 2012 (due on my 26th birthday which was the 15th January 2013!) weighing in at 3lb 5 and 3lb 6. They spent 43 days in two different neonatal units. 

I was amazed at just how much was involved in the care of my babies in the first six weeks of their lives and had honestly never seen a baby look so small  and fragile. 

My premature twins are now healthy,  happy and very talkative 6 year olds. I only took up running around a year ago and have since managed to (slowly!) complete three half marathons. I've always loved watching the London Marathon and hope that on 28th April 2019 I'll manage to cross the finish line. I hope to raise as much money as possible for Bliss by the fundraising deadline of two months after the marathon. 

Update:15/1/2019: I managed to start 2019 well and managed a 15 mile run but ten days on running is still a struggle! We are now up to £400 of the fundraising target. Sadly the fundraiser I held back in September didn't raise as much as expected and fundraising since has been a struggle. I hope to plan some additional fundraising activities before and just after the marathon in the hope that we'll get closer to the target

Update 1st May 2019: I ran and.... I finished it!! Managed a time of 6 hours 58 minutes and 14 seconds! Thank you all so much for believing in me and for your kind donations. It was one of the hardest things I've ever done but probably not the hardest! Thanks to anyone who tracked me on the day and to Bliss for taking me on as part of their team. Due to time constraints it's unlikely I'll make the full target but have already achieved over £1000 for this amazing charity!!
