Story
I once flippantly announced to John that I was planning to run the Paris Marathon! This was back in the day when I frequently hatched these ridiculous plans mainly because they sounded fashionable! I'll give you 50p if you can tell me his response:-) The closing date for the application came and went and the plan vanished into thin air! My goal setting tendencies were always very half arsed! but he was good enough not to remind me about it!
....things have changed! sadly I have learnt for real that we have only one shot at this life and its time to re-visit these one time fancies and give them some careful consideration! Time to drum up some genuine self motivation! have a crack at what you once felt impossible!.....
So I've signed up for the Brighton Marathon! cool!.....like none of you knew this already... I'm out pounding the pavement four times a week! you see me in Lycra with terrible hair MOST of the time! and I'm finally dedicating myself properly to a training plan! It's not easy, my legs as you know are quite short and one in particular looks like it will buckle under me with every stride ....clearly this doesn't aid my running style and I'm certainly no Paula Radcliff!
As is the custom, I have chosen a charity to run for! It's not every year you run a Marathon after all! if it were an available cause to donate to, I'd choose time travel for obvious reasons! in the absence of this It has to be Bloodwise for the life changing research and breakthroughs they have already achieved and for the family's that will need them in the future!
I personally want to thank you all for listening to me Rabbit on about my running, to all of you who regularly step in to help me accommodate the demands of my training plan, by offering pick ups from school and baby sitting of the girls whilst I train! AND in advance of any donations.....Thank you! Really it means more than you know and it breaks my heart that you have to do it!
