MHA is a fantastic charity that helps people in later life. Be it through community groups, retirement living sites and care homes they provide inspiring support and care to help everyone get the best out of their later life.

It has been an incredibly tough few months, but the care, compassion and inspiration continues - often in new and exciting ways. Supporting people like Alan, who after loosing his wife found connection in an MHA community group only to have it taken away by lockdown.  Daily calls from the MHA team have been vital to him. Easing his loneliness and isolation at this incredibly vulnerable time.

To support MHA I am taking part in the virtual Great North Run. I'm not actually running it, or doing it on the right day, oh no, that would require a level of fitness and diary coordination I simply don't have! Instead I am going to be walking the 13.1 miles of the Great North Run on Sunday 16th August.  Lockdown has played havoc with what fitness I did have, so this is going to be a real challenge for me.
