Very recently my best friend Seani lost her beautiful mum, Fiona to a sudden stroke and it has shocked and devastated her family and friends. Fiona was a fit and healthy 50 year old woman who took great care of herself and others, and it is a tragedy that she is no longer with us. The only explanation for what happened is that her warmth and kindness was needed in heaven.

In memory of Fiona, and to raise money for The Stroke Association I will be running the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon in London.

Those who know me, will know that my motivation to do any exercise has always been rather poor and so this certainly will be a challenge for me. It is often hard to find ways to comfort those in pain after someone has passed away, but I hope this small gesture is able to bring some happiness to Seani and her family, knowing that money is being raised for a cause that has suddenly become so important them all.

No matter how small or large your donation may be, I would really appreciate any contribution to a cause that means so much to me, and to everyone who cherished Fiona's life.
