Sons ,daughters, mums and dads, we all have a heart, Pumping day and night to every body part

Sometimes the heart gets tired and the pump begins to fail, for those people it’s like riding a storm without a sail

Breathless, in pain and most of al fearful,                                   Feeling like the path is lost and getting very tearful

Sometimes the heart decides to stop without any notice at all                                                                                                     An underlying blockage causes the heart to stall

This is where the scientists come and play their part          Trying to find cures to fix our broken heart 

Patients I have met along the way have been so brave ,           I am running for them and their families who we could yet save

The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives.
