My mum was sadly diagnosed with Alzheimers a few years a go. Anyone who has been affected, or impacted in anyway by this disease, will understand the effect it has not only on the the person they love, but also on all the people around them. I wanted to do something this year that would raise as much money as I could for this amazing charity who has also, like many charities, felt the true impact of the pandemic. 

As you all know I love a challenge but have always shied away from doing a marathon. Too worried that it may end my running days, which are invaluable as a way of escaping, especially over the last few years. This year, has been particularly tough, and when the opportunity came up to run the London Marathon and raise money for Alzheimer’s, it felt like something I was meant to do.

My Dad also ran the London Marathon around the same age as I am now, and I know would have loved that I am also now putting myself through the pain! Like a true lovely friend Bethan, has agreed that we will share this one, and do everything we can to cross the line! We are both definitely the wrong side of 40, and just hope our bodies manage to survive the bloody long way we need to run! Any support at all, we will be grateful..
