Story
Yesterday I completed the 10k in the most atrocious weather conditions! Driving rain, and when the rain eased off gusty winds. It was so wet I found it easier to see without my glasses.
The chap at the Rainforest Foundation had breezily told me 10k was twice round Finsbury Park, but in fact it turned out that it was 4 times round the park track - longer than I had imagined, and far far wetter.
Tim and the boys loyally stood out in the rain to cheer me on, although Al was none too happy and glared at me everytime I ran past them.
I don't think Paula Radcliffe has anything to fear from my time, but I was pleased that I did run all the way, and without music. I somehow thought that iPods weren't on in a real race (thus missing out on Al's motivational playlist of Eye of the Tiger and Crazy Frog - mmm, well maybe that was the right decision after all) and then saw loads of people plugged in and running - next time I think, along with a more waterproof kit.
