Story
Between the 30th of July and the 7th of August (weather depending) I’ll be swimming The North Channel between Northern Ireland and Scotland. It’s a tough swim, in fact one of the toughest in the world! Cold water temperatures, rough seas and lions mane jellyfish… but I’ll give it my best crack!
I’ve been helping 11 year old Finley prepare for his own Shine Charity 2k Open Water swim. His journey, and the journey of his whole family has inspired me so much. Please read his story…
“I have chosen this charity because my nephew, Harrison, was born last year with Myelomeningocele Spina Bifida, and Hydrocephalus. Harrison had 5 operations and spent 3 months in St George’s Neo-Natal ICU before finally coming home to meet his family. We call him our “Tiny Trooper”.”
Harrison is a happy and thriving little boy but he will need ongoing care throughout his life and this is where SHINE’s support is so important to him and his family.
Shine is almost entirely funded by the generosity of the general public. Your donation changes lives. It will enable them to provide vital early intervention, support groups, training events, information, reassurance and so much more
Fundraising for Shine will help us to continue supporting people living with spina bifida & hydrocephalus. Our charity work is almost entirely funded by the generosity of the general public. Every pound makes a difference. We are incredibly grateful for your support.
