When you have a lightbulb moment at 3am that you want to make a difference, do something a little out of the ordinary and raise funds for the local Hospice in memory of one of my best friends late Husband. Then you think it’s a good idea - TO ATTEMPT TO CONQUER THE 3 YORKSHIRE PEAKS !!
And so now I’ve announced this thought, to my closest, there’s definitely no turning back. I then get cold feet and think I can’t do this alone and turn to another amazing best friend/confidante and she agrees to walk with me every step of the way for this amazing cause.
Myself and Amy need your motivation to help us complete one of the most mentally challenging events we have ever considered, to walk the peaks over 24 miles in under 12 hours.
We are asking everyone we know to please consider a small donation, share our story or give us a like because all of this will make the task worthwhile.
We will hopefully be raising a glass 🍾 at the top, on the eve of what would have been your 57th birthday Greg, please help us get there 💙
Quite unbelievably, all of the above was written a few weeks ago ready for me to post at the right time and then my life was overturned and it was all delayed. Who would’ve thought I would be adding to this so poignantly. My dear Mum, who had already had several tough years battling Parkinson's Dementia became poorly with pneumonia. A few days in the hospital resulted in us being told she was at end of life care and Trinity Hospice would be able to offer her, and us, dignity and comfort in her final days. The process was overwhelming yet peaceful, as we truly were given the support and empathy needed at that time. If you have ever needed the Hospice at any point in your life you will genuinely know of what a support it can be at the most traumatic time. I don’t think I can show my appreciation anymore than trying to raise much needed funds. So now this one’s also for my Mum - I know she would’ve supported me every step but she also would’ve expected a call when we reached the top to make sure I got there ok ❤️. In memory of my amazing Mother, Patricia Worthington , I love you x
