Story
Thanks so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am running the Great North Run on 19 Sept to raise money in memory of my mother who died last year. She had Myasthenia Gravis (MG) for over 12 years so all the money I raise will go to the MG Association to support other sufferers & to fund research into alternative ways to treat the illness.
MG is a rare illness. In layman's terms, it is a disease that affects how your nerves and muscles communicate so your muscles become less effective. So eating, breathing, using your limbs even smiling can be difficult - it can also be fatal. The disease can be managed but, as yet, there is no cure.
My mother coped with the illness with grace, dignity & great humour. It's hard to believe that she has been gone for over 18 months. We all miss her very much every day but she lives on in our many happy memories - a few of which I have shared on my photos.
Thank you so much for donating and for your generosity. Your details are safe with JustGiving as they never pass your info onto 3rd parties, won't send you emails & they pass the money straight to the charity. Thank you. I, and the MG Association, really, really appreciate it.
Thanks
Lucinda
