Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
After running for 20 mins on a treadmill a few months ago, I considered myself the next Mo Farah and by that evening I had signed up to run The Royal Park’s half marathon - www.royalparkshalf.com for The Institute of Cancer Research. How lovely would a run along the Serpentine be on a Sunday morning I thought....obviously completely delusional, I didn’t realise how long a half marathon actually was (the last competitive run I did was 5km 10 years ago), so now’s the time to get you all involved!!
I’m running for family and friends that have battled cancer and as sadly most of us know someone who has battled this terrible disease , if you’d like to show your support for the research of treatments and hopefully prevention, you can donate through me as I sweat it out over the parks of London in October.
As a novice runner, training for this distance has been a challenge mentally and physically but with your support, running nearly 22km will be nothing compared to the difference your charitable donations will make to those having to deal with the diagnosis of cancer.
If you’d like to follow my training, find me on Strava (the running tracking app) under Luci Worth and if you’d like to show your support on the day, I’ll see you at the finish line on Sunday October 14th.
Thank you for all of your support you lovely people!
