Event: London Marathon 2023, on 23 April 2023
This year eight of our supporters will be lacing up their trainers and taking on the 26.2-mile challenge of the iconic TCS London Marathon in aid of The Countryside Alliance Foundation's two key projects: Fishing for Schools and Castaway.

Story

For a number of reasons I have not been able to get to the finish line of the London Marathon (or the start line!) since it was postponed in 2020.

This year is the year and I can't wait to finally cross that finish line! When I last trained I got up to 18 miles so let's hope the training goes well this time.

Fishing for Schools takes disadvantaged children and young people out of the classroom, helping build confidence, gain new skills and a sense of achievement through fishing. Now in its 15th year, over 3,500 young people have benefitted from taking part.

Castaway supports men and women affected by all types of cancer, to improve their physical and mental health through fishing and the countryside. Castaway is dedicated to supporting people who have completed cancer treatment, offering them the well-being, nurture and the camaraderie of angling.

Thanks for your support with my London Marathon JustGiving challenge! My page donations will be sent direct to the charity in a fast and secure way. Its efficient, saves time and cuts costs for the charity. Let's do this!

About the campaign

About the charity

Many children and young people know little about the countryside and rural way of life. Its programme of educational initiatives will introduce them, and their teachers, to the beauty, importance and diversity of our rural heritage, inspiring them to become passionate about its future and protect it for future generations.
